ACEC has signed a partnership agreement with the Aker Solutions in February 2009. Aker Solutions will provide the managerial and technical support to further enhance and strengthen ACEC's engineering services business.

The signing ceremony took place in the ACEC office in Al-Khobar. ACEC team was led by Sheikh Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, ACEC owner, accompanied by Mohammed Al-Sofi and Haroun Al-Sofi. Aker Solutions team was led by Johan Cnossen, president of Aker Process Ltd, Dr. Mohammed Sammur the Operations Director (Middle East) and Henk Dolman the general manager of Aker Process Gulf. A celebration of this important milestone was later held that evening in the Gulf Meredian, Al-Khobar. This was attended by dignitaries from both companies and all of ACEC staff.

Dr. Mohammad Sammur, AkerSolutions, has been assigned to ACEC as Managing Director.

Dr. Muhammad Sammur has over 22 years of successful experience in project management, engineering operations management with a successful track record of delivering multidisciplinary, major capital and complex projects for the nuclear power generation and process industries (including process plants construction projects), applying national and international standards (e.g. ASME III, CEN, BS5500) and working with regulatory bodies (UK: EA and NII, KSA: Royal Commission (RC) and High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS)).
